Dear Friends and Visitors,
As a photographer, primarily in the music business for nearly four decades, I have had the pleasure of photographing hundreds of wonderful musicians. The women on this website have all been seen through my lens at some point during my career. Upon my diagnosis of breast cancer, many of the musicians asked if they could help. This CD is a result of their kind, loving support. The royalties from their songs have been donated to the cause of breast cancer prevention. For each CD you buy, $4 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Fund. Each one of these songs is a gem, and they possess, as music often does, a power to help us feel better.
Friendship was the seed of this project, and I hope it becomes a symbol of friendship, comfort, hope and strength for you and the people you love. — Irene Young, Photographer
“It is not surprising that Irene approached her personal journey with cancer just as she approaches her work: with compassion, studying it from all sides, distilling the essence and turning that experience into something so beautiful as Glass Half Full.” —Heather Raffo, Actor/Playwright, 9 Parts of Desire
“Irene Young’s Glass Half Full calls you to the sacred space of celebrating life, friendship, and art.” —Jeanne Rizzo, R.N. Executive Director, Breast Cancer Fund
“The key to photographing people is to do so with a wide open aperture of the heart, with no judgment, and with a true belief that everyone is beautiful.” —Irene Young
